The new Georgia Hands Free law will go into effect July 1 and, while the Loganville Police Department are big supporters of the law, the agency has chosen to utilize a grace period for local drivers.

What this means is that through midnight July 31, if a Loganville police officer observes a violation of the new Hands-Free law, they will stop the driver and educate them not only about the new law but the dangers associated with not being hands free while driving.

“We believe this is a great way to give us a chance to have an educational approach before enforcement,” said Major Greg Warnack, commander of the Loganville Police Department Uniform Patrol Division.
