Assuming the weather cooperates, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will pace traffic on Interstate 85 in the northbound and southbound lanes this week. The pacing will allow contractors to perform required blasting on the project. Drivers can anticipate delays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Thursday.
On I-85, northbound traffic pacing will take place after Old Peachtree Road to the entrance ramp at State Route 20. Southbound pacing will occur after the Hamilton Mill entrance ramp to the southbound bridge over I-985.
Additionally, entrance ramps at State Route 317 and State Route 20 will be blocked in both directions until the pacing has passed. Once the pacing is safely past the entrance ramps, motorists will be allowed to merge onto I-85.
Georgia DOT cautions motorists to pay attention and stay alert while traveling through this work zone.
