Dinner in the City will be an inaugural benefit featuring a three-course dinner prepared by alumni of 180° Kitchen, the culinary educational facility of City of Refuge, plus a chef's competition judged by industry experts Ford Fry of Rocket Farm Restaurants, Steve Palmer of the Indigo Road Restaurant Group and Steve Simon of Fifth Group.

Two teams will prepare the evening’s meal. Guests will enjoy a half-portion size appetizer, entrée and dessert; post dinner, guests will cast their votes to determine the winning team.

In addition to the culinary excitement, City of Refuge will be selling a limited number of raffle tickets for a 2015 model Porsche Boxster or Cayman, inclusive of an $8,000 customization package.

The event will be held at 180° Kitchen (1300 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard, Atlanta) at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Tickets are available for $35 per person and may be purchased via http://dinner.cityofrefuge.events/.

Proceeds from raffle and Dinner in the City ticket sales will benefit 180° Kitchen along with City of Refuge’s additional transformational programs.

More from the press release:

While guests dine, two standout contestants will face off in a dynamic, creative competition, where they’ll craft an additional dish of their choosing using the ingredients included in a mystery box given to each chef. Judges Fry, Palmer and Simon will determine the winning chef after tasting each presented dish.

Furthering City of Refuge’s mission of providing transformational programs and creating tangible change, the winning chef will be gifted with $1,000 and a car certified by the organization’s NAPA Training Center.

Raffle tickets for a 2015 model Porsche Boxster or Cayman may be purchased for $100 each or $1,000 for 14 and are available online now, but will also be sold throughout the event; a maximum of 2,000 tickets will be sold. The raffle winner will be announced at City of Refuge’s annual gala, The Gathering, on Thursday, October 25.

Patron level group tickets, boasting priority seating and name recognition in the event program, are available for $50 apiece, with a minimum purchase of two tickets. Corporate sponsorships, beginning at $5,000, are also available and feature extensive corporate benefits including logo recognition and a table at the benefit.
