The Woodstock City Council has approved on second reading ordinances annexing 2.2 acres on Rope Mill Road and rezoning the undeveloped parcel for a planned office project.

Piedmont Capital Partners LLC requested the annexation of land at 297 Rope Mill; and rezoning of the tract from R-40 residential to GC general commercial, with variances. The site is immediately south of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta shopping center.

Plans presented at prior city meetings show a three-story medical office building with 35,170 square feet and 183 parking spaces.

Requested variances included relaxing certain tree-planting requirements (staff recommended full or partial denial), and reducing the required setback under GC zoning to 20.5 feet from 40 feet (staff recommended approval on the condition the applicant installed a required trail connection).
