If you're heading out of town for the holidays, Orbitz says this week is the best time to book your flights.
According to the website’s holiday travel guide, Tuesday, Oct. 6 is the cheapest day to book a flight for Thanksgiving.
If you miss tomorrow, the entire week has fares that are 5 percent lower than average.
For Christmas, the site says the best day to book is Friday, Oct. 9.
And if you plan to celebrate the new year in a new city, the best day to book a flight is Saturday, Oct. 10.
Orbitz says fares tend to go up about 5 percent in the weeks surrounding the holidays so don’t wait too long.
