Over the next couple of days, plan a springtime getaway to the West with discount airfare rates from Frontier Airlines.

The carrier offers savings on one-way travel which permits travelers to create unique itineraries.

Sample one-way rates are:

  • $99 Omaha, Neb.
  • $117 Durango, Colo.
  • $119 Colorado Springs, Colo.
  • $124 Aspen, Colo.; Billings, Mont. or Bozeman, Wyo.
  • $129 Salt Lake City; Santa Barbara, Calif.; Seattle or Spokane, Wash.
  • $139 Albuquerque, N.M.; Orange County-Santa Ana, Sacramento or San Francisco, Calif. and Tucson, Ariz.
  • $149 Portland, Ore. or San Diego

Plan to begin travel on or after March 4. Travel must be finished on or before May 25.

The lowest rates are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Travel taken on Mondays and Thursdays-Saturdays are $20 more, each way. Travel on Sundays is at regular rates.

The above rates do not include taxes or fees. Factor in about $20 each way.

Frontier serves each of these sale destinations with connecting service via Denver.

Buy tickets through Feb. 24; www.frontierairlines.com.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase. I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel Web sites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc. Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer is deemed "sold out," or when that rate does not have a "ticket-by" date.
