The Milton City Council is updating its Parks and Recreation Department fee schedule, accepting on first reading a proposal to offer three new seasonal membership options at the Milton City Pool.

The new fees, “to more adequately serve the long-term needs of our citizens,” would include a senior citizen rate of $55, an individual pass of $75 and a seven-member family pass for $350, according to a staff report to the council. The seasonal passes would allow pool access every day the facility is open between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Current family memberships are $200 for up to four people; $250 for five; and $300 for six, according to the City Pool web site.

“The adoption of this resolution allows the city to further encourage the usage of the pool at the former Milton Country Club property,” staff said, and “also provides us with the opportunity to expand access to our senior citizens.”

The council is to take up the issue a second time April 8. The City Pool, at 1785 Dinsmore Road, had its inaugural season as a public facility in 2018.
