Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium is set to reopen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, exactly a week after a fire closed the Old Fourth Ward gallery and watering hole.

Owner Grant Henry  praised his employees and OFW friends and neighbors for pitching in help avert a crisis when the fire broke out, all the community support he received in the aftermath, and the many trades people and workers who helped get the business up and running in record time. Henry will be offering a toast to them all during the reopening party.

“I want to write the story one day,” Henry said in a message. “It was incredible. No Pee-Wee Herman was lost in the fire.”

Known for displays of Henry’s satirical artwork and ongoing pingpong tournaments, “Church” has become a celebrity destination since opening in late 2010, with the likes of Lady Gaga making the scene.
