Gwinnett Stripers baseball fans will soon have more options than ever when it comes to stadium food. Coolray Field is introducing several new items to its menu, including burgers, snacks and dessert.

The new seasonal items include everything from Georgia peaches to French onion dip and take inspiration from regional flavors as well as traditional stadium fare. A pair of original burgers, the Southern Burger and Onion Dip burger, are already available.

“Georgia is known for peaches, so I said, ‘Hey, let’s do a peach barbecue sauce on a burger,’” said Fabian Torres. Torres is the executive chef of Pro Sports Catering, a provider that caters minor league baseball venues.

This peach sauce tops the new Southern Burger, a half-pound patty with pulled pork and mango coleslaw. Recently introduced, the $8.25 burger is already a fan favorite.

“The mango slaw is wonderful. The barbecue is wonderful,” said Debbie Clark, a season pass holder. “That’s all you need. You don’t need French fries or anything else.”

On July 4, the stadium will introduce the Firecracker Burger, which is finished in a jalapeno au jus and topped with an onion ring, Swiss cheese, and sliced jalapenos for additional heat.

Two final burgers, the Hawaiian Burger and the Cheese Fries Burger, will be available in August. The former has toppings of grilled pineapple and Swiss cheese; the latter is a half-pound patty topped with fries and queso.

The new menu also includes snacks and dessert options, all available now. Stadium-goers will find a cinnamon sugar pretzel, a bacon-wrapped, foot-long corn dog, and a cobbler made with Georgia peaches and topped with soft-serve vanilla ice cream.
