We told you about a data analytics company that is taking the day off to see "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" en masse — all 220 employees — but apparently they're not the only ones playing hooky today.
Others are joining the Rebel forces headed to the theater during work hours. BuzzFeed even offered an excuse generator, for those who might not be adept at Jedi mind tricks.
Atlanta based Insight Sourcing Group, which consults on procurement practices, is among the companies taking its employees to a galaxy far, far away this morning, a trip they've been planning for months. (Company CEO Tom Beaty, dressed in a Rebel flight suit, made the announcement at the company Halloween party.)
They’ll take about 75 employees, plus spouses and significant others, to the 11 a.m. showing at the Studio Movie Grill on Holcomb Bridge Road near their Norcross office, with lunch and snacks on the company.
The company is into Star Wars, but also into giving its employees a treat. Said marketing manager Josh Stancil, “Our CEO understands that these kinds of events are fun, motivating and foster an incredible company culture.”

It wasn't during work hours, but about 160 employees from the technology and engineerings teams at The Weather Company (of which The Weather Channel is part) went to the evening showings Thursday.
“One of our forward-thinking team members (Rob Hedin, lead iOS developer) reserved two theaters back in October for the team to watch the opening day release,” wrote Weather Company spokesperson Melissa Medori.
“Bryson Koehler, our Chief Information and Technology Officer for The Weather Company, even offered gift card giveaways for anyone who came in costume.”
The Force is strong with that one.
