An inmate is suing a Dougherty County sheriff’s deputy who allegedly used a Taser on him after he refused to let a nurse draw blood.

Albany attorney Jim Finkelstein filed a civil suit Friday on behalf of inmate Victor Pinkins, according to the Albany Herald.

The suit, which names Dougherty Sheriff Kevin Sproul and Deputy Stephen Kyles as defendants, stems from an alleged incident involving Pinkins and Kyles at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The attorney told the Albany Herald that when Pinkins did not allow a nurse to stick him with a needle, Kyles told him, “If you don’t let her draw that blood, I’m going to tase you.”

When Pinkins refused, Finkelstein told the newspaper Kyles carried out the threat twice.
