Supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate David Perdue are gathering at the Sheraton Suites hotel on Cobb Parkway.
The modest space the campaign reserved is no larger than a classroom and is dominated by two tables for family and friends.
About 75 supporters of the former U.S. senator milled about as returns for the governor’s race trickled in and two oversized screens showed Fox News updates.
Speaking to the group, early Trump supporter Bruce Levell ticked off a list of offenses committed by Gov. Brian Kemp, including appointing Kelly Loeffler to the Senate, and a familiar litany of complaints from former President Donald Trump about the 2020 elections as just a few of the reasons Kemp had lost his confidence.
Levell ended with a warning for fellow Republicans.
”If we don’t prevail, which I’m praying we will, and Brian Kemp miraculously does, we will not beat Stacey Abrams,” he said.
A single Pedue supporter called out, “Never Kemp!”
