MARIETTA

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged”

They say the Bard is responsible for every storyline ever imagined. Don’t have time to read them all? The three manic actors in this rapid-fire production will get you through the tragedies and comedies in about 97 minutes. And they don’t limit themselves just to Shakespeare’s plays; you’ll hear his sonnets as well. If the whirlwind production leaves you reeling, you might want to see this show again: It’s on the theater’s stage weekends through Oct. 11.

8 p.m. Sept. 26-27; 3 p.m. Sept. 28. $17-$25. Out of the Box Theatre, 585 Cobb Parkway, Marietta. 678-653-4605, outofboxtheatre.com.

CHAMBLEE

Atlanta Warbird Weekend

Unlike airshows where the audience watches giant planes roar overhead, this event offers the chance to buy a ride in a vintage aircraft. While those tickets are a bit pricey ($450 to $850 to ride in a World War II B-17 bomber), there’s no charge to get up close with the planes and even sit in a few cockpits. Sponsored by the Peachtree City-based Commemorative Air Force, the show includes discussions about bombing raids, tactics and glider operations; military equipment displays; live big band music; and personal appearances by former pilots, gunners and crewmen.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 27-28. Free. Peachtree-DeKalb Airport, 2000 Airport Road, Chamblee. 404-202-9348, atlantawarbirdweekend.com.
