Jennifer Aniston rarely speaks out about tabloid reports about her relationships.
But the actress has had enough of the gossip papers publishing questions on her body - specifically whether she and her husband, Justin Theroux, are expecting.
In a column for Huffington Post, Aniston, who is not on social media, set the record straight: She is not pregnant. But she said she "is fed up" with supermarket tabloids.
"I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news,'" Aniston wrote.
She admitted that she is used as an example to rate women in society.
"The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing," she wrote. "The way I am portrayed by the media is simply a reflection of how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty."
She said she and her husband are "harassed" by photographers who will go to any lengths to get a photo.
Aniston said she used to consider tabloids as noothing more than comic books, a distraction not to be taken seriously.
She said that while the tabloids were trying to find out if she was pregnant, the country suffered mass shootings and wild fires and has an upcoming election that "journalists," in her opinion, should be covering.
