Former 92.9/The Game host Mark Zinno is taking over a slot left by Larry Wachs and his Regular Guys show on sports talk station the Fan 2 (FM 106.3/AM 1230).

"I brought him on board in a full-time, multi-year deal," said David Dickey, who owns 680/The Fan and its two sister Fan stations. "I'm excited to have him as we fill out the Fan 2 lineup."

Zinno will start solo on Monday, December 4 from 2 to 5 p.m., but Dickey plans to hire a co host.

"Same fire. Same passion. Same show. New station. Can't tell you how excited I am for this! Let's do this! See you there!" Zinno wrote today on Twitter.

Dickey said Zinno had to wait out his non-compete agreement with the Game before he could join the Fan. He left the Game in April after three years doing evenings there.

"He's a talented guy, a lot of energy, younger, knows baseball well, has a military background," Dickey said.

Zinno told his story on sportsradiopd.com:

When I got the offer from David Dickey to join his radio company, I literally almost cried. It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I felt complete once again. You look back on the time that you were in that void and you realize that you never want to be there again. That you will do everything in your power to make sure that you don't end up there again. You also gain a new appreciation and respect for the job you have and the opportunity you have been given. Yes, you earned it, but second chances aren't always easy to earn. People have to take a chance on you. I can't tell you how excited I am to be given a second chance.

The Fan 2 signal is limited on both the AM and FM dial largely to Cobb County but it can be heard online here. It's also available on TuneIn.
