Drivers can expect work to continue on the South Metro express lanes beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Construction work will take place between Highway 138 and Jonesboro Road on I-75 south of Atlanta, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Work will be performed in 2-mile increments unless otherwise noted.
On I-75 southbound, one left lane will close near Highway 138 between mile markers 228 and 226 from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday.
On I-75 northbound, one right lane will close near Jonesboro Road between mile markers 221 and 222 from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
On I-75 northbound, one left lane will close near the I-675 interchange between mile markers 226 and 228 from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Drivers are urged to slow down in work areas and expect heavy congestion in the 12-mile zone. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes.
