Come with your hearty appetite and the following restaurants and cooking class will donate to various charitable organizations. In these cases, good food equals good will.

Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI): This philanthropic society dedicated to fostering the education of students in food, fine beverage and hospitality will host their annual Culinary Futures Event from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan.14 at AmericasMart. The evening will include seasonal tasting tables, drinks, dancing, raffles and more. Tickets are $65 and may be purchased here.

The Cook's Warehouse's Simple Abundance: The Decatur location will offer a taste of India with a hands-on and tasting class called Traditional Indian Non-Vegetarian Cuisine. Chef Archna Becker of Bhojanic will lead this easy-to-prepare class featuring curried goat, ground lamb and more from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25. The cost is $65 per person. 100-percent of the proceeds will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Doc Chey's Noodle House: The sixth annual Morningside Mile, a one-mile race, will kick off at noon Sunday, April 17, from 12-2 p.m. Event proceeds will benefit the restoration of the historic Virginia- Highland Fire Station 19 and more. Post race, runners will be able to indulge in music, food from Doc Chey's and a noodle-eating contest. Complimentary SweetWater beer and treats from Alon's Bakery will be available too. Registration is open now through Thursday, April 14, or 1,000 runners, whichever comes first.

The Farmer Fund and Souper Jenny Westside: Enjoy a special showing of "Big Night" and an Italian family-style meal beginning 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29. Tickets, which are currently only available at Souper Jenny Westside, are $75 inclusive of food and alcohol.
