The storm that paralyzed roadways throughout metro Atlanta on Jan. 28 was a very different from the one the region is facing now. In this case, the greatest danger is not of impassable roads but downed trees and power lines.
But that’s not all that’s different. Meteorologists have been much more forceful and graphic in describing the havoc inherent in the forecast. And government officials — who were roundly criticized for being asleep at the wheel last month — have been very, very busy telling Georgians that danger lurks ahead and they need to prepare for it.
