DiMantae Bronaugh was told he would miss his senior season of football after being diagnosed with leukemia, but that didn't stop him from suiting up and taking the field with his team Friday night.
The standout running back may not be well enough to play, but he is remaining positive by focusing on all of the support he has received.
“I’m just glad everybody cares. I’m loving the support – can’t really be down when everyone’s trying to help you up,” said Bronaugh.
His family is also thankful for the support from the team and community.
“They have truly been a blessing. From the support we’re getting back home, from the coaches, to everybody,” said Anita Gordon, Bronaugh’s aunt.
Bronaugh is also seeing support from other teams, who got together and signed a banner for him.
