Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is comfortable with the bright lights on the game’s grandest stage.
If the Panthers win you can only imagine how hyped Newton’s celebration will become.
He’s an emotional player who likes to celebrate good results from his hard work. He knows what a victory would mean for him personally and for Carolina owner Jerry Richardson.
“It would be monumental to say the least because I know what went into Mr. Richardson not only purchasing the team, but yet getting the ultimate goal for his team is something that he set out to do since Day 1 for us,” Newton said. “I know how big, how much it would mean not only to Mr. Richardson, but to the Carolinas all over and everyone who supports the Carolina Panthers.”
Newton knows the Broncos have a formidable defense, which features pass rushers DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller. The Broncos led the NFL with 52 sacks and harassed New England quarterback Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game with four sacks and 17 hits.
“My hands are pretty full trying to slide the protection the right way to DeMarcus Ware or Von Miller,” Newton said.
It’s been a long journey to the Super Bowl for Newton. His travails and triumphs through three colleges have been well-documented.
“I know it’s going to sound cliche, but yet just having fun,” said Newton, when asked what has fueled his run to the Super Bowl and why he celebrates.
