Malik Benlevi signed with the Georgia State men’s basketball team on Tuesday.

Benlevi, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game as a junior last year at Jenkins High School in Savannah.

Georgia State is expected to sign two more players in the spring. The Panthers will open the season on Friday hosting Tennessee Temple at the Sports Arena.

Banner up: A banner representing the Panthers' Sun Belt championship won last year will be raised before Friday's game.

The banner will be unveiled at 6:50 p.m., 10 minutes before tipoff.

The banner won’t be raised until later because the school is inviting fans to have their picture taken with the banner after the game.
