Hall of Famer, Braves legend and now Braves coach Chipper Jones arrived at camp Tuesday when the team held its first full-squad spring workouts.

Jones is beginning his duties as a part-time major-league hitting consultant. The Braves tweeted a photo of his arrival at spring training Tuesday morning in North Port, Fla., saying “.@RealCJ10 is back at #BravesST.” The AJC’s Curtis Compton photographed Jones instructing infielder Johan Camargo, who’s competing for a spot on the bench.

Jones, who truly mastered the art of hitting over his 19-year career, will be invaluable to the organization, manager Brian Snitker said.

“He’s going to be a great resource for the coaches, players and myself,” Snitker said earlier this week. “He’s going to help make us better.”

The Braves open their Grapefruit League schedule Sunday against the Rays. They’ll play 29 exhibition games in 31 days before beginning the regular season April 1 in Philadelphia.
