Barrow County officials were investigating a shooting involving a 9-year-old victim Monday.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook shortly after 5 p.m. that deputies were on the scene at the intersection of Ga. 82 and Giles Road “in reference to a 9 year old that has been shot.”
“Emergency personnel are on scene and the roadway is blocked for life flight to arrive on scene,” the Facebook post said.
Authorities later said the shooting appeared accidental and that no charges have been filed, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The girl is expected to recover, Channel 2 said.
