Bella Thorne is firing back at Whoopi Goldberg after “The View” co-host criticized her for taking intimate photos.

Over the weekend, Horne shared nude pictures of herself on Twitter after she said a hacker threatened to leak them, but Goldberg said she shouldn’t have taken the images in the first place.
“Once you take that picture it goes into the cloud and it’s available to any hacker who wants them,” Goldberg said on the talk show Tuesday. “And if you don't know that in 2019 that this is an issue, I’m sorry. Your age does not —you don't get to do that.”
She continued, “if you’re famous — I don’t care how old you are —you don't take nude pictures of yourself.”
Thorne responded to Goldberg in a series of tearful Instagram Stories Tuesday night. "Shame on you ... for putting that public opinion just out there like that for every young girl to think that they're disgusting for even taking a photo like that. Shame on you," Thorne said.
She said listening to Goldberg’s comments made her feel “really bad” about herself. She added she would be canceling an upcoming appearance on “The View,” because she said she doesn’t “want to be beaten down by a bunch of older women for my body and my sexuality.”
Twitter had a lot to say about the controversy. By Wednesday morning, “Whoopi” and “Bella Thorne” had become trending topics on the platform. Many folks sided with Goldberg, saying “actions have consequences.”
Whoopi is trending because she spoke the truth? If any nudes of mine are leaked, it’s my fault. PERIODT! I’ve looked 18 different ways for how she’s wrong and I don’t see it. #NotSorry

I saw Whoopi was trending and got scared but everything's ok, people are just mad because she was right.

If you're a famous person and don't want your nudes leaked, don't take them. Not shaming or excuses the actions of hackers, it's just reality. 🤷🏾♂️ pic.twitter.com/0CyAC1ExoM
Mannnnn, you guys got Whoopi trending for speaking some truth. I know you don't like old school perspectives that see through our current age but it's real: everything is out there now, if you think privacy is real anymore, get wrecked when your nudes get leaked. pic.twitter.com/VsO5Bab99g

Team Whoopi. I can't believe, after all we've seen, celebs are still taking nudes and then being shocked that they're leaked. Bella... pic.twitter.com/hIg0jHdE9z

Others accused Goldberg of victim-shaming. They even compared Goldberg’s reply to those who believe people should beware of their attire to prevent sexual assault.
i know everyone kinda cringes at bella thorne but still wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, nor would i blame her for it. doesn’t solve the problem by shaming her @thetwerkinggirl https://t.co/yIt43V2vM5

Saying "well if u didn't take the picture" is no different than saying if u didn't wear short skirts or if u weren't drinking...stop blaming victims for the actions of predators...whoopi

And a few said Goldberg’s response was misinterpreted. They said she was only trying to highlight the risk of taking nude pictures, especially if you’re a celebrity, and encourage people to careful.
Any adult has a right to take nude photos of themselves and share them with whomever they choose. Whoopi is trying to say it's not smart for a celebrity to do it, but instead she says, "you don't get to do that," which is wrong.

Four points about Whoopi Goldberg:
— Keith Boykin (@keithboykin) June 19, 2019
1. There’s nothing wrong with taking nude photos.
2. Once those photos leave your possession, they could end up anywhere.
3. Everyone should know this in 2019.
4. That does not excuse violating your privacy.pic.twitter.com/nSG97PJXtz
