Bill Reilly is the new clerk of the Georgia House, Speaker David Ralston said Tuesday.
Reilly has been Ralston’s general counsel since January 2010 and is a former juvenile court judge. He will serve the remainder of Robby Rivers’ term, which expires at the end of 2014. The House will elect a new clerk in January 2015.
Rivers retired last week after 21 years as clerk.
“I have complete confidence that the high standards we have come to expect from the clerk’s office will continue,” Ralston said. “Bill Reilly not only brings the knowledge, professionalism and leadership ability necessary to this position, but he also brings a love and respect for the House as an institution and each of its members as the elected representatives of the people of Georgia.”
