Atlanta’s Latin American Association chief to retire
The head of the Latin American Association announced Friday she is retiring after spending 14 years with the nonprofit, which serves Atlanta area immigrants.
Jeffrey Tapia, the association’s executive director, plans to remain in her position until her successor is named and will then stay on in an advisory role. Tapia has expanded the scope and impact of the LAA’s immigration and educational programs during her tenure. A committee is searching for her replacement.
“I am so proud to see how the work of the LAA touches the lives of so many families across Georgia and I feel fortunate to be part of its history,” Tapia said in a prepared statement. “It is a privilege to serve our Latino community and to lead the Latin American Association.”
