Farming is coming to downtown Atlanta.
Mayor Kasim Reed is expected to announce on Wednesday a design competition to convert a 1.3-acre vacant lot across the street from city hall into an urban farm.
The goal is to transform the land into a thriving demonstration farm as part of the city’s “Power to Change” sustainability plan and its commitment to bring local food to the tables of local residents.
The lot, at Trinity and Central avenues is the former home to the Atlanta Municipal Court.
