State School Superintendent Richard Woods recently announced his newest group of students from across the state to serve on his Student Advisory Council.

Three of the 142 students selected are from the Henry County School System: Siya Patel, an eighth-grader from Luella Middle School; Arman Bryan, a 12th-grader from Ola High School; and Anthony Johnson, a 12th-grader from the Academy for Advanced Studies. They were selected from an applicant pool of more than 1,500 students.

The group of students will have the opportunity to interact with and discuss various matters with Superintendent Woods, including the impact of state policies in the classroom. The students will also serve as ambassadors for Woods in their respective schools.
