Item: Kennesaw: (Cobb County)
One of the issues we constantly hear about from readers is road signs. Whether the signs are labled incorrectly or confusing, our readers are concerned about them.
“The sign for the I-75 expressway was placed far away from the actual turn. It should be at the corner of Barrett Lakes Boulevard and Big Shanty Road in Kennesaw, but they put the sign about an eighth of a mile away near a Hyundai dealership,” Nancy O’ Brien wrote.
We sent her concerns about the sign to the DOT and will let you know when it is moved or adjusted to the correct location.

Update: Atlanta (DeKalb)
Two weeks ago, we were sent an issue about a sidewalk.
Sidewalks and pedestrian mobility are now key parts of any new development as the region moves towards a more environmental-friendly mode.
“The sidewalk in front of the Madison Apartments on North Druid Hills Road has buckled. This sidewalk is at 2696 North Druid Hills Road NE. The sidewalk may be the county’s responsibility or the apartment complex’s, but it has been buckled for months now. This is quite a hazard for pedestrians and impassable for anyone in a wheelchair,” wrote Mimi Outlaw.
A county official replied: “The DeKalb County Roads and Drainage Department inspected the location and marked the area. Repairs are anticipated to begin within 30 days.”
