New item-Atlanta

We received an email from Vern Liebmann who is tired of the deteriorating condition of Cheshire Bridge Road.

He said the street is a hodge podge of pot holes, broken curbsides, inadequate striping, depressed storm grates and metal plates and has been that way for for years in the section from La Vista Road/Lindbergh up to the Interstate 85 entrance.

“This area’s roads are neglected and the city of Atlanta and the state DOT do not care as we are at the end of city limits. Near accidents are an almost daily occurrence for this heavily travelled road,” he explained. We sent the item to the city and will keep you posted on any progress on the road.

Update-DeKalb County

A damaged bridge on River Road in DeKalb County is on its way to getting fixed after we brought it to the attention of the county.

“The bridge was damaged by a private truck. The county has hired a consultant to design the bridge repair … once designed a bridge contractor will be hired to do the repair work,” said DeKalb County press secretary Burke Brennan.

Update-Atlanta

Earlier this month, we told you about David Hubert’s concern over a popular park in the city.

“The steps at the ball fields at Frankie Allen Park in Buckhead are quite dangerous. Not only are they hazardous to the children using the fields, but are unsafe for parents and grandparents attending the games and parking on the adjacent lot,”he wrote.

We got an answer from the city.

“The Department of Parks and Recreation strives to deliver quality customer service through the development, operation and maintenance of the city’s public parks. We are committed to building strong communities and a vibrant economy by providing safe and exceptional parks, facilities and programs. Frankie Allen Park is maintained in partnership with Buckhead Baseball. The department will work with Buckhead Baseball to determine a resolution for the staircases in the park,” wrote press information officer Christina Cruz-Benton.
