Suwanee councilman to seek county commission seat

Suwanee City Councilman Jace Brooks has announced he will run for the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners next year.

Brooks will seek the District 1 seat currently held by Commissioner Shirley Lasseter. Brooks has served on the Suwanee City Council since 2002. If elected, he said he would stress “greater budgeting and financial discipline, enhanced operating efficiencies for all departments and economic and tax policies designed to expand the county’s tax base.”
