By a unanimous vote Dec. 11 the Henry County Board of Education approved its 2018 meeting schedule, which will see each month’s study session and regular business meeting convene on the same day.
Up to now board meetings have been conducted on the second Monday of each month with occasional exceptions while the study session took place on the preceding Wednesday. The 2018 schedule calls for 4 p.m. study sessions and 7 p.m. regular meetings the second Monday of every month. The first meeting of the new year is set for Jan. 8. The move will streamline the overall schedule, according to officials, and also be more conducive for the board’s plans to start video coverage of the meetings, which will begin with a January test run and the goal of full operation in February. Meetings will be recorded and archived on the school system’s website.
