The Braselton Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building, 5040 State Route 53 to consider a request for a conditional use permit that will allow for the construction of a RaceTrac Convenience Store/Gas Station. The planning commission was previously due to review the request in Oct. but the applicant, Gipco Southern Inc., delayed the request.

The proposed gas staion and convenicne store would be built at the southwest corner of the Thompson Mill Road/State Route 211 intersection. Fountainhead Development owns the property, which is currently zoned for a planned unit development within the State Route 211 Overlay district.

Following the planning commission’s public hearing and recommendations, the Braselton Mayor and Town Council will hold a public hearing on the request at 4 p.m. Feb 8.
