The Gwinnett planning commission will consider Tuesday a proposal for a new tattoo parlor in a popular shopping center.

The facility is proposed for a suite at Stonebridge Crossing, located at the intersection of Rockbridge Road and E. Park Place Boulevard near Stone Mountain.

"There will be no unruly or vagrant persons allowed," owner John L. Anderson Jr. wrote in his application for a special use permit. "[We] cater to young professionals, fitness enthusiasts and body art collectors. I feel we will be an asset to the plaza not a burden or liability."

The planning department has recommended approval with conditions.

"In light of the subject property’s location within an intensely developed commercial corridor, a small tattoo studio may be a suitable type of use in this retail center, provided appropriate conditions are included to ensure a quality appearance and compatibility with neighboring properties,"

The proposal is just one of several the planning commission is slated to consider at its next meeting. Explore other proposals in the interactive map below or by clicking here — and remember that agendas are tentative and subject to change.
