The Marietta City School Board has announced plans to keep its tax rate at the same level for 2019, but some residents could end up paying more in taxes.
The board has scheduled three public hearings on its plans to maintain its existing rate at 17.97.
If the board adopts the rate, a home valued at about $280,000 could see their tax bill for the school district increase by $60. A non-homesteaded property valued at about $600,000 will see the tax bill rise by about $133.
Public hearings are set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 and 8:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at the Marietta City School System central offices at 250 Howard Street.
The school board is set to vote on its millage rate at its July 16 meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the central office.
