Kristal Dixon has been in the journalism industry for more than 10 years. She got her break in February 2007 when she was hired as an editorial assistant at the Griffin Daily News. She was hired in August 2007 as an education reporter for the Cherokee Tribune in Canton. For five years, she covered education, city and county government, business, crime and feature stories. While at the Cherokee Tribune, she won awards for her reporting from the Georgia Press Association and the Georgia Associated Press Association. In September 2012, she was hired as a local editor with Patch.com. She covered several communities across Bartow, Cherokee and North Fulton counties. She began covering Cobb County for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in February 2019. She graduated from Griffin High School in 2002 and from the University of West Georgia in 2006.
