World Changers Church Marietta received approval on Aug. 14 by the Marietta City Council to construct an assembly building.

The Council agreed to rezone seven acres at 601 and 611 Tower Road from residential and office institutional to office institutional.

However, the portion of the property south of Noses Creek will remain undeveloped.

For about $1.2 million, the new two-story building will total 15,000 square feet that will be a pre-fabricated steel structure.

Also, the church will use a temporary modular building to conduct teen ministry services until the addition’s construction is complete.

This facility will include a 200-seat multi-purpose area designed for service and sports, a large fellowship area, multiple classroom areas for infants to teens, a prayer room, a commercial kitchen, a pastor’s office, a pastor’s guest office, a janitorial closet, restrooms, a choir practice/dress room, a nursing mothers’ room, a cafe area, a bookstore and multiple storage areas.

The request was made by Pastor Carol Jones and Senior Pastors Creflo and Taffi Dollar.
