Kennesaw State University acquires more acreage on George Busbee Parkway east of I-75.

University Board of Regents approve the $875,000 purchase of an acre of land from Cobb County.  It encompasses the site of a former Kids 'R' Kids daycare.

"Space continues to be a premium as Kennesaw State evolves into a world-class institution, so this new property will strongly support our master plan and the vision we have for the university's future," KSU President Dan Papp states in a prepared release.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports the acreage is across the street from the KSU Sports & Entertainment Park.  It's adjacent to the former BrandsMart the university purchased last year. That building now houses the KSU marching band.

Plans to renovate the daycare are now in the works.

KSU has the state's third-largest enrollment behind Georgia State and UGA.
