A new comprehensive ranking of health for nearly every county in America finds that Fulton County ranks No. 7 among 10 metro Atlanta counties and No. 25 among all Georgia counties.

The study of more than 20 health measures by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute found that Fulton has lower rates of smoking (14 percent), obesity (22 percent) and physical inactivity (19 percent) than the state as a whole.

The study also found that a slightly higher percentage of people excessively drink (18 percent), as well as higher rates of violent crime and air pollution, compared with the state overall.
