Henry County school district approved for additional pre-k location

The Henry County School System announced that the state has approved the district for another pre-k site for this year. It will be a single class at Mt. Carmel Elementary School, 2450 Mt. Carmel Road in Hampton, starting Oct. 16.

Registration is scheduled for Oct. 5-6. Acceptance will be based on a lottery system with preference given to children residing within the school attendance area. Students currently attending another Georgia pre-k site are not eligible to transfer. Pre-k classes are already underway at Fairview, Hampton Charter, Oakland, Pate’s Creek, Tussahaw and Wesley Lakes elementary schools.
