The 2019 remaining dates are Aug. 25 (National Park Service’s birthday); Sept. 28 (National Public Lands Day); and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).
While many parks around the country are free to enter all year long, at least 115 favorites typically require fees ranging between $3 and $30 per admission.
In Georgia, the following historical sites are fee-free on the aforementioned dates:
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park (Oglethorpe)
Cumberland Island National Seashore (St. Mary's)
Fort Pulaski National Monument (Savannah)
Note the fee waiver does not account for amenity or user fees for camping, transportation, special tours and the like.
