A Gwinnett County McDonald's failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting "mold-like debris" and "multiple flies."
The restaurant, located at 4133 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn, scored a 60/U.
According to the inspection report, officials found mold-like debris in two different ice machines and flies "throughout the facility," including in the kitchen and dining area. Cigarette butts were also spotted "on the storage shelves in the basement storage area."
The inspector also reported watching employees rinse food containers without sanitizing them. Several hamburger patties were not cooked to the proper temperature either, the report said.
Happy Meal boxes were improperly stored on the floor, the report said.
A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Thursday's evaluation.
Calls to the restaurant went unanswered early Friday afternoon.
