The Cherokee County Educational Foundation Friday awarded its second annual round of competitive IMPACT grants to various schools and projects in the district, totaling $15,000.

Among the proposals given the largest grants were Bringing Movement To Math at Avery Elementary School for $2,399, SMArTE Space at Clark Creek Elementary STEM academy at $2,500, and a recording studio at River Ridge High School for $1,900.

Members of the nonprofit foundation’s board reviewed the various proposals from teachers, paraprofessionals, school staff and others and looked for those that would strengthen academics and instruction, demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to education, and have long-term benefits.
