Road crews will have dry weather for several construction projects planned for this weekend.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is predicting sunny skies Saturday and Sunday, with highs around 60 on Saturday and in the mid-50s on Sunday and overnight lows in the 30s.
Saturday will be breezy, with winds gusting to 25 mph, but those winds should die down a bit on Sunday, when gusts to 15 mph are predicted.
The state Department of Transportation has announced several road construction projects that will shut down lanes along metro interstates this weekend:
In Sandy Springs, the right lane of I-285 westbound will be closed between Ga. 400 and Roswell Road, beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing through 5 a.m. Sunday.
The two right lanes of I-85 southbound near Metropolitan Parkway will be shut down from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
In DeKalb County, there will be various lane closures along I-20 westbound between Turner Hill and Wesley Chapel roads all weekend.
On the southside, the right lane of I-75 northbound will be closed all weekend from Forest Parkway to Central Avenue.
Downtown motorists can expect congestion in the area of the Georgia Dome and Philips Arena on Saturday.
The Honda Battle of the Bands will be held Saturday at the Dome, beginning at 3 p.m.
Saturday night, Philips Arena will host Jeff Dunham’s “Controlled Chaos” tour at 8 p.m.
