A 33-year-old employee of the DeKalb County public defender’s office was in serious condition  after she was hit by a car as she crossed West Trinity Place, heading for work at the courthouse Wednesday morning, police said.

Decatur Police Deputy Chief Keith Lee declined to release the name of the injured woman.

He said her injuries were “serious,” but not life-threatening. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

A 22-year-old woman, who also was not named, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Lee said the investigation was continuing.
