The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta was awarded a a $50,000 matching grant from Grants to Green for environmental improvements to its Dunwoody campus. Improvements include a UV system and pool cover for the indoor pool, motion sensors for lighting in the gym and energy saving lighting. Changes have helped the center reduce water and energy usage by 19.5 percent for an annual savings of almost $75,000. Grants to Green is a a partnership between The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and Southface.
