The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 Tuesday to approve a $17.7 million contract for the I-75 at Windy Hill Road Diverging Diamond Interchange.

Of that amount, the Georgia Department of Transportation will be paid $3,000 for a construction administration fee. The remaining $12,000 will be paid through federal funding. The state’s maximum construction cost will be nearly $10.9 million.

Cobb will have to pay construction costs up to around $6.8 million and all of any construction costs that exceed the state maximum. C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc. was the low bidder.

May 31, 2017 is the anticipated completion date with three travel lanes in each direction, a 14-foot pedestrian median across the I-75 bridge, relocation of Circle 75 Parkway and Leland Drive and reconfiguration of Interstate North Parkway West.
