Cobb Citizens Public Safety Academy begins in September

The Cobb County Department of Public Safety will hold its fall session of the Citizens Public Safety Academy in September.

This 14-week program allows qualified Cobb residents to obtain an insider’s look into the Department of Public Safety.

During the course, participants will be offered knowledge and insight as to how the police, fire, animal services and 911 departments are organized and the role each plays to ensure public safety.

To participate, those interested should reside in Cobb County, work for Cobb County government or schools and be at least 21 years of age, according to a county statement.

The start date is 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Academy, 2109 Valor Drive, Marietta from where applicants may pick up an application.

Then the application will need to be taken to the Cobb County Public Safety Internal Affairs Department, 1150 Powder Springs St., Suite 300, Marietta by 3 p.m. Sept. 10.

A copy of your driver’s license will need to be included with the application.

Applications that are on the wait list will be held over to the spring 2019 program.
