Atlanta public school teachers won’t be paid on Labor Day because it’s the first of three scheduled furlough days this year.

A statement from Atlanta Public Schools said the school system’s administration decided to use a combination of one holiday and two working days for furloughs as a result of this summer’s budgeting process.

Some administrators will be required to take a fourth furlough day on a working day later in the school year.
