Atlanta City Council’s transportation committee at its June 14 meeting is scheduled to have a second reading on a proposed ordinance to reduce the posted speed limit on Oglethorpe Avenue S.W. between Grady Place S.W. and Lee Street S.W. to 30 miles per hour from 35.
The committee will also consider a proposed ordinance to amend a section of the Atlanta Code of Ordinances, titled “Vehicle Size, Weight and Load,” in order to prohibit any commercial cut-through truck traffic on Bolton Road and Marietta Boulevard.
Two other ordinances on the agenda propose making four-way stop-controlled intersections at White Street S.W. and Joseph E. Lowry Boulevard, S.W.; and at Lee Street S.W. and Hammond Street, respectively.
